This is a really interesting lecture talking about the history of the flute.  They show a picture of a flute that was made out of a piece of bone 45,000 years ago.  The lecture is an hour long, but it is a well spent hour.

Not a jazz group, but I really enjoyed watching The Whipstitch Sallies perform earlier this year.  Great vocals, highly skilled players.  As for Jazz group?  I have not run across a new one this year, just yet, but I am on the hunt.
